Glen Helen Post-Event Highlights
The dramatic points battle in all of the classes of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series got even more intense under the lights at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino at the 4 Wheel Parts Off Road Nationals presented by Canidae All Natural Pet Foods. The Drivers anticipation built up towards the night-time event while the heat intensified the day-time conditions. The pressure produced big action and great racing for Rounds 9 & 10 with a great crowd of fans to enjoy it all.
The tight Pro 2 points clash continued to deliver the action that fans have come to expect from the top off road short course series in the nation. Points leader heading into Round 9, Marty Hart continued to shine with a win over 2nd place Patrick Clark, and 3rd place Rob MacCachren who is second behind Hart in the Championship. Deegan was third in points and finished Round 9 back in 7th place but he easily defeated the Pro 2 field with a dominant victory in Round 10. On the other side MacCachren finished 4th where Marty Hart was only able to complete 4 laps.
Pro 4 Series leader, Kyle LeDuc continued to impress with brilliant driving all weekend, however Round 8 Winner; Eric Barron laid it down with his Toyota sweeping the category with back-to-wins. Championship contender, Todd Leduc made the podium both days with 2nd & 3rd place finishes where Josh Merrell could not find a groove and had trouble all weekend.
The Pro Lite pision will see a bit of a shake up as front runner RJ Anderson finished 4th and Chris Brandt (second in points) 5th in Round 9. The real story is Trophy Kart Graduate, Bradley Morris scored back-to-back wins. Round 10 saw Brian Deegan finish in 2nd and Ryan Beat (who is 3rd in points) finish 4th where the point leaders RJ Anderson and Brandt finished in the back of the pack.

With the Rounds winding down, all the competitors are looking towards the next competition as they visit the all-new Wild West Off Road Park in Reno, Nevada.
