Chandler, AZ (October 26, 2018) – Brandon Arthur, driver of the MAVTV, Stronghold Motorsports, Pro Traffic Services, Toyo Tires #6 Chevy Pro Lite was very much in contention for a 2018 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) Championship. In fact, prior to Round 11 in Chandler, Arizona, Arthur had significantly narrowed the margin down to a 13 point separation from leader Ryan Beat. Unfortunately, Brandon was advised to sit out the final round due to not feeling 100% physically ready after a desert racing incident the preceding weekend.
Arthur's chances for a Pro Lite Championship were dashed during the race when Toyo Tires teammate Kyle Leduc was forced to retire early with structural mechanical failure. The MAVTV #6 Pro Lite qualifying run and race start was enough to hang on for 2nd Place Runner Up in Lucas Oil Off Road Pro Lite Championship.
"Due to the wreck in Laughlin, I was unable to drive the truck for the last round," Brandon explained. "We needed to race to try and maintain our second place in points for the series so we had Kyle Leduc substitute for me. In the heat of Round 11, Kyle was going into turn 1 and got tangled up with another truck which took out the front suspension. Unfortunately the truck was unable to finish the race, but we earned enough points for 2nd place on the season."
During the course of the 2018 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, Brandon Arthur had one Race Win during Round 7 and earned two Top 5 Finishes besides the seven Podiums captured; (3 - 2nd place, 3 – 3rd place, and 1 – 1st ). Arthur was notably one of the quickest and most consistent drivers in the Pro Lite division scoring two Top Qualifying Poles.
Brandon has been holding a significant presence since he stepped into the Pro Lite category in 2014. Arthur finished the 2015 season 3rd in points and improved to a 2nd place finish in the 2016 points standings. 2017 was a mediocre year but still finished in the Top 5. Now for the 2018 season, another 2nd place season can be added to the tally.
"We were hoping this would be our year," admitted Brandon. I am bummed on the last week and it was rough watching from the grandstands although it was the best thing to do for myself. I am very grateful to be in the position to race the MAVTV Pro Lite for the 2018 season. I must recognize all the partners that supported our Stronghold Motorsports program this year MAVTV, Stronghold Motorsports, Pro Traffic Services, Toyo Tires, KMC Wheels, HRT Motorsports, Competitive Metals, FOX, Safety-Kleen, FK Rod Ends, STEEL-IT, Baja Designs, Magnaflow, FiberwerX, Performance Plus Lubricants, F&L Racing Fuels, Heatshield Products, Heatwave Visual, Buggy Whip, ECP Powder Coatings, Howe Performance, Wirefab, Bink Designs, Benchmark Performance and Redline Performance. Thank you to everyone for all the love, support, and well wishes.
The Pro Lite category is certainly a crowd favorite and arguably the most exciting of the series. The high truck counts on a tight off road short course means there is exciting racing and truck breaking carnage could lurk around any corner at any time. A true driving professional like Brandon Arthur does his best to race hard, drive fast, and pass clean. The pros also understand that you cannot win them all and the reality of racing for a championship is truly a long term goal. For Arthur, the goal of a Pro Lite Championship just got pushed back.
