Practice for Round 5 runs smoothly

The drivers and crews of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, have had just three weeks to get their vehicles back in top shape, and now the time has come to find out whether or not they've done enough. With four rounds already in the books, this season is flying along, and now the series comes to the high-speed, high-flying track at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park for Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2013 championship. This track is tough on race vehicles, and the unique layout of huge jumps and high-speed sections demands ultimate concentration from all drivers. Things can go very well or very poorly here, so it's important to learn the track as well as possible, and to have one's setup as dialed in as it can be. This places big importance on all practice sessions, and all drivers were given two separate sessions today. Every track in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing series has its own unique character. The Track in Lake Elsinore, California is dominated by a very steep take off ramp that leads to a huge table-top jump that dominates the center of the track. When the wind blows across the lake, it can get downright scary. Get it right and you become a fan favorite. Misjudge the take-off and you have a long time to think about it before you come down.

Lucas Oil Off Road Series drivers anxious to test themselves on demanding Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park track this weekend

LAKE ELSINORE, California (May 14, 2013) – This weekend the largest crowd in the history of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO is expected to pack Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park for the fifth and sixth rounds of this year's 15-round series.

That doesn't surprise the drivers at all.

"Elsinore is built on the concept of showing what a short-course race truck can really do," reigning Pro 4 Unlimited class champion Kyle LeDuc said. "These trucks are made to fly, to do unbelievable things, and I think the Elsinore track really shows it.

Driver Brian Deegan (38) will be allowed to utilize a "Substitute Driver" and retain all points earned in the Pro 2 and Pro Lite classes of the May 2013 Lake Elsinore event, Rounds 5 and 6.
